Clinton is a small central Illinois city of about 7,000 people, sitting 30 miles northeast of Decatur along Interstate 74. Take Exit 164 to reach downtown via US Route 51, which connects north to Bloomington and south to Decatur. The city serves as De Witt County seat amid prime farmland. Clinton Lake, a large reservoir built for the nuclear power plant, offers excellent fishing and boating.
