Clearmont is a tiny ranching town of about 100 people in Wyoming's Powder River Basin, reached via Highway 16 about 20 miles southwest of Buffalo. Most visitors come from I-25 through Buffalo or up Highway 387 from Kaycee through scenic ranch country. The town sits at 4,600 feet where Clear Creek winds through grassland and cottonwoods. Its restored 1913 one-room schoolhouse now serves as the community center.
