Clearfield is a farming community of 400 people in southwestern Iowa, about 70 miles from Des Moines via Highway 2. The town sits among rolling agricultural fields typical of Taylor County's corn and soybean country. Most visitors arrive on Highway 2 from Creston to the west or via county roads from Interstate 80. The town's historic 1885 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a testament to Iowa's pioneer heritage.
