Clarkton is a small farming town in southeastern North Carolina, about 30 miles southwest of Fayetteville via NC 87 and US 701. The main route is US 701, which runs north-south through town and connects to Elizabethtown and Fair Bluff. From Wilmington, take US 701 north about 60 miles. The town hosts the annual North Carolina Peanut Festival each September, celebrating local agriculture with music and food.
