Clarksville is a small farming town in north-central Iowa, about 30 minutes northeast of Waterloo via Highway 57 and Highway 3. Highway 188 runs north-south through town toward Charles City, while Highway 3 provides the main east-west connection. The town sits along the Shell Rock River in typical Iowa prairie country. Clarksville hosts the Butler County Fair, running continuously since 1886.
