Clarkfield is a farming town of about 900 people in southwestern Minnesota's Yellow Medicine County. Highway 23 runs right through town, connecting east to Marshall (25 miles) and west toward South Dakota. Most visitors come this way, while locals often drive to Marshall for shopping. The historic grain elevator still operates downtown, towering over the small business district as a working symbol of the area's agricultural roots.
