Clarion is Wright County's seat in north-central Iowa, positioned along Highway 3 about 45 miles from Ames via Highway 69. Most visitors arrive on Highway 3, which connects to Eagle Grove and Iowa Falls, or take Highway 69 from Des Moines and Ames. The 1918 Wright County Courthouse with its prominent clock tower anchors the historic downtown square.
