Clarendon is a small Delta farming town of 1,800 people along the White River in eastern Arkansas. Highway 79 runs north-south through town, connecting to Stuttgart 25 miles south and continuing to Brinkley. US 165 provides the main east-west route, reaching Little Rock about 70 miles southwest via I-40. The 1906 Monroe County Courthouse, a red brick Classical Revival building, dominates the small downtown.
