Clarence is a small farming town in north-central Missouri, home to about 860 people in Shelby County. Highway 36 runs right through town, connecting it east to Macon and west toward Kansas City. Most visitors arrive via Highway 15 from Mexico to the south or county roads from Highway 6 up north. The town sits in typical Missouri farm country with rolling hills and crop fields. Its 1895 railroad depot still stands downtown, marking Clarence's history as a stop on the old Wabash rail line.
