Clarence is a small forestry community in northwestern Louisiana, reachable via Highway 1 from Natchitoches in about 20 minutes. Most long-distance visitors come through I-49 and Natchitoches, while locals use Highway 1 for daily trips. The town of 300 sits among the tall pines near Kisatchie National Forest, where red clay soil and humid subtropical weather create ideal growing conditions. It serves as the eastern gateway to the Calcasieu Ranger District's pristine forest lands.
