Clacks Canyon is a tiny desert community of 59 people in northwestern Arizona's Mojave County, accessible via local roads from Kingman and I-40. The remote settlement sits between Kingman and Nevada in harsh desert terrain where summer temps top 110°F. Most visitors fuel up in Kingman before making the final approach, as services are extremely limited. The town gets its name from the distinctive clacking sounds wind makes echoing through the narrow canyon walls.
