Chuathbaluk is a tiny Yup'ik village of 82 people on the Kuskokwim River, 270 miles west of Anchorage. No roads reach this remote community - access is by small plane through Chuathbaluk Airport or seasonal river boat. The village sits at a dramatic river bend where traditional salmon fishing has sustained families for generations.
