Chittenango is a small central New York city about 20 miles east of Syracuse, reachable via I-90 Exit 34 to Route 13 south. The town of 4,800 sits along Chittenango Creek in Madison County's rolling farmland. Most visitors take Route 5 east from Syracuse to Route 13 south, while long-distance travelers use I-81 to I-90. The downtown features yellow brick sidewalks honoring native son L. Frank Baum, who wrote The Wizard of Oz here.
