China Spring is a small Texas community of about 1,100 people located 15 miles northwest of Waco via Interstate 35 and Highway 6. The town sits in the rolling hills where the Brazos River valley meets the eastern edge of Hill Country. Most visitors arrive from Dallas or Austin on I-35, while locals use Highway 6 for Waco commutes. Waco Regional Airport is 20 miles southeast. The town gets its name from a natural spring discovered by Chinese railroad workers in the 1880s.
