Chidester is a small Arkansas town of about 300 people, reached via Highway 24 west of Camden or Highway 278 from Interstate 30. The community sits in the pine-covered Ouachita foothills, where logging trucks still rumble past on their way to regional mills. Most notable is its history as an early railroad stop along the old Caddo River route.
