Cheviot is a small city of about 8,600 people located eight miles west of downtown Cincinnati in Hamilton County. The main routes in are West Eighth Street and Harrison Avenue (US-27) from Cincinnati, with I-74 providing highway access via Harrison Avenue and North Bend Road exits. The community sits in Ohio's river valley climate zone and maintains its original 1946 volunteer firehouse on Harrison Avenue.
