Cheshire is a tiny Ohio River community in southeastern Ohio with just over 100 residents. Take State Route 7 along the river from Portsmouth (35 miles north) or Huntington, West Virginia (20 miles south). The scenic but winding river road connects to US Route 23 and US Route 60. American Electric Power famously bought out most of the town in the early 2000s due to pollution from a nearby coal plant.
