Cherokee is a small farming town in north-central Oklahoma, accessible via US Highway 64 running east-west and State Highway 8 heading north-south. Most visitors arrive from Woodward (45 miles west) or Enid (35 miles southeast) on US 64. The surrounding wheat country and flat prairie terrain make for easy driving with long sight lines. The town's 120-foot grain elevator from 1925 dominates the skyline and can be spotted from miles away.
