Cheraw is a small farming town in southeastern Colorado, accessible via State Highway 109 about 15 miles south of La Junta. Most visitors take US Highway 50 to La Junta, then head south on 109. The semi-arid climate brings hot summers and snowy winters at 4,200 feet elevation. The town's towering grain elevator serves as a prairie landmark visible for miles across the flat farmland.
