Cheney is a small Kansas town about 20 miles west of Wichita, easily reached via US Highway 54. Most traffic consists of daily commuters heading to and from Wichita, though the area also attracts anglers to nearby Cheney Lake. The 9,550-acre reservoir supplies Wichita's drinking water and offers some of the region's best walleye fishing.
