Chebanse is a farming town of 920 people in rural Illinois, about 60 miles south of Chicago. Take I-57 south to Exit 302, then head west on Chebanse Road to reach the village center. State Route 1 runs through town, connecting to Kankakee (25 miles north) and Watseka (15 miles south). The historic Chebanse State Bank building from 1906 anchors the small downtown with its distinctive pressed brick facade.
