Charleston is a small Delta town and county seat in north-central Mississippi, sitting amid cotton fields about 30 miles from Clarksdale. US 278 runs right through town, connecting to I-55 via Highway 32 near Grenada. The 1873 brick courthouse anchors the town square and remains one of Mississippi's oldest working courthouses in its original building.
