Chappell is a small farming town in western Nebraska's panhandle, sitting right off Interstate 80 at Exit 85. The county seat serves travelers on the historic Lincoln Highway route between North Platte and Cheyenne. Most visitors pass through on I-80, while locals use Highway 30 for trips to Sidney or other nearby communities. The standout landmark is the 1939 Deuel County Courthouse, built from local limestone and surprisingly grand for such a small plains town.
