Chaparrito is a tiny Texas community of 16 people in Starr County, about 60 miles west of McAllen along US Highway 83. Reach it via US 83 through the Rio Grande Valley, then local farm roads. The area features typical South Texas brush country with mesquite and cactus. Despite its small size, Chaparrito operates its own post office.
