Chamberlain sits along Interstate 90 in south-central South Dakota, right where the highway crosses the Missouri River. It's a natural pit stop halfway between Sioux Falls and Rapid City, with US 83 running north-south through town toward Pierre. The Akta Lakota Museum here houses one of the region's most impressive collections of Lakota artifacts and cultural exhibits.
