Chalfant is a small borough of about 770 people in Allegheny County, just southeast of Pittsburgh along the Monongahela River. Take I-376 east from downtown Pittsburgh, then exit onto Route 885 south to reach the community. The borough sits near Allegheny County Airport and connects to the Great Allegheny Passage trail system. Chalfant was once home to the massive National Tube Works steel plant.
