Chain-O-Lakes is a tiny Ozark community of 119 people in southwestern Missouri, about 25 miles west of Branson via scenic Route 86. Most visitors arrive from Springfield by taking US 65 south to Branson, then Route 86 west through rolling hills and farmland. The settlement gets its name from the series of small interconnected lakes and ponds that early settlers created with dams for their gristmills.
