Central Lake is a small town of about 1,000 people in northern Michigan's lake country, reached via M-88 from US-31 near Elk Rapids. It's 15 miles from Traverse City and serves as a gateway to the Chain of Lakes region and nearby Torch Lake. The town sits along the Intermediate River and maintains its classic small-town character with the original 1950s neon Riverside Inn sign still lighting up Main Street.
