Central City sits in western Kentucky's coal country, about 90 miles southwest of Louisville. US Highway 62 runs right through town, connecting to the Western Kentucky Parkway at Exit 40. Most visitors take the parkway from Louisville or Bowling Green, then follow US 62 west for 10 miles through rolling farmland. The town honors its most famous sons with the Everly Brothers Monument, celebrating the rock and roll pioneers who were born here.
