Center Line sits 15 miles north of Detroit in Macomb County, connected by I-696 and Van Dyke Avenue (M-53). Most trips are short commutes to Warren's industrial areas or east to Mount Clemens, while I-696 links to I-75 and I-94 for longer journeys. The city got its name from sitting on the original survey line dividing Macomb and Oakland counties.
