Cave Junction is a small Oregon mountain town that serves as the gateway to Oregon Caves National Monument. Located in the Illinois Valley about 30 miles southwest of Grants Pass via scenic US Highway 199, it's surrounded by the Siskiyou Mountains. The town of 1,700 sits in a Mediterranean climate zone with dry summers and wet winters. Highway 46 branches east from town, winding eight miles through dense forest to reach the famous limestone caverns known as the "Marble Halls of Oregon."
