Causey is a tiny farming town of 122 people in eastern New Mexico's Roosevelt County, about 20 miles northeast of Portales via State Road 114. The high plains community sits in wheat and cattle country near the Texas border, accessible from Clovis via US 70 west to Portales. Its towering grain elevator serves as a landmark visible for miles across the flat Llano Estacado.
