Cathlamet is a small riverside town along the Columbia River in southwest Washington, serving as Wahkiakum County's seat with about 600 residents. Highway 4 provides the main access, connecting east to Longview (20 miles) and west toward the coast, while longer trips typically route through Kelso from I-5. The town operates the Oscar B ferry, one of Washington's few remaining state-run ferries, providing 15-minute crossings to Puget Island.
