Cassadaga is a small village of 600 people in western New York's Chautauqua County, about 60 miles from Buffalo via I-90 west to I-86 south, then Route 60 north. The area gets heavy lake-effect snow in winter but enjoys mild summers. The village is famous for the Cassadaga Spiritualist Assembly, a community of mediums and spiritual practitioners operating since 1879.
