Casar is a small rural community in Cleveland County, North Carolina, located in the foothills between Charlotte and Asheville. Reach it via NC Highway 18 from US 321 north of Gastonia, about 45 miles from Charlotte. The area features rolling terrain where the Piedmont meets the Appalachian foothills, with mild winters and humid summers. The restored Casar Depot, an early 1900s railroad station, now serves as a community center.
