Carver is a small city of about 6,200 people located 30 miles southwest of Minneapolis along Highway 5. The most common route from the Twin Cities follows I-494 west to Highway 5, then continues west about 10 miles. County Road 11 provides north-south connections to nearby Chaska and other suburbs. The community sits in the Minnesota River valley with rolling terrain and a mix of agricultural and residential development. You can still see the stone foundation ruins of the original 1857 Carver Mill along the riverbank.
