Caribou is a small city in northern Maine, about 12 miles from the Canadian border and home to roughly 7,400 people. It's the heart of Maine's potato country, surrounded by vast farms that dominate the landscape. US Route 1 connects it to Presque Isle and points south, while Route 89 heads west to the border. The annual Caribou Marathon runs through endless potato fields that stretch to the horizon.
