Carbon is a tiny Texas town of 280 people in Eastland County, about 80 miles southwest of Fort Worth. Take I-20 west to Eastland, then Highway 6 north to reach it. The community sits in the Cross Timbers region where oak woodlands meet prairie. Its vintage wooden grain elevator remains a visible landmark along Highway 6.
