Capron is a small railroad town in southeastern Virginia's Southampton County, accessible via US Route 58 which runs east-west through the community. The highway connects to Norfolk about 60 miles east and Emporia 15 miles west, while Route 35 links north to Franklin. The town developed around the late 1800s rail line and retains its original 1900s railroad depot near the still-active Norfolk Southern tracks.
