Canyon Lake is a gated community in Riverside County built around a private 383-acre lake, about 80 miles from LA via I-15 south to Highway 74 west. Most residents commute to Temecula or Murrieta via Highway 79, while longer trips use I-15 for San Diego or Vegas connections. It's one of California's few entirely private lakes where all shoreline belongs to homeowners.
