Canton is a small river town in northeastern Missouri that serves as Lewis County's seat. Located along the Mississippi River about 120 miles north of St. Louis via US Highway 61, it's home to roughly 2,750 residents and Culver-Stockton College. The historic liberal arts campus sits on a hill overlooking the river, founded in 1853.
