Campbell is a small East Texas farming town of about 900 people, located 60 miles northeast of Dallas via US 380. The highway connects through McKinney from Dallas or through Greenville from the east, making it about an hour's drive from the metro area. The town sits in Hunt County's agricultural heartland, surrounded by cotton fields and scattered post oak woodlands. Its restored 1920s bank building, complete with the original vault door, recalls Campbell's brief oil boom era.
