Cameron is a small county seat in east-central Texas, about 65 miles from both Austin and Houston. US Highway 77 runs right through town, connecting to major cities via US 79 from Austin or US 290 from Houston. The 1892 red sandstone courthouse with its prominent clock tower anchors the historic town square.
