Camas sits on the Columbia River about 20 miles east of Portland, connected by scenic Highway 14 along the river. Most visitors take I-205 from Portland to Exit 12, then follow SR-14 east through the Columbia River Gorge. The city serves as a gateway to outdoor recreation and still features the towering brick smokestack from its historic paper mill that operated for over a century.
