Camargo is a small Illinois town of about 450 people along State Route 36 in Douglas County. It's about 25 miles southeast of Decatur and serves as a convenient stop on the east-west route connecting Decatur to Paris. The town sits amid typical Midwest farmland and is notable for housing one of the state's few preserved one-room schoolhouses that operated until 1967.
