Camargito is a tiny South Texas town of 376 people in Starr County, near the Mexican border. Reach it via FM 649 off US Highway 83, the main valley route between McAllen and Laredo. The area stays hot most of the year in typical Rio Grande Valley fashion. Old railroad tracks from the Missouri Pacific line still run through the center of town.
