Calvert City is a small industrial town in western Kentucky, positioned between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. Most visitors arrive via Interstate 69 to US Highway 62, which runs directly through town. The area serves as a gateway to the Land Between the Lakes region, with Paducah 25 miles west and Evansville 45 miles north. The town is dominated by a massive Dow Chemical plant that has operated since the 1950s.
