Callender Lake is a small East Texas community built around a private lake about 70 miles east of Dallas. Reach it via I-20 to Highway 19 north, or from Tyler via Highway 155 south. Popular with weekend visitors from Dallas-Fort Worth and day-trippers from nearby Canton, known for its First Monday Trade Days. The lake still has its original 1960s earthen dam.
