Callahan is a small town of about 1,500 people in Nassau County, right on the Georgia border about 30 miles northeast of Jacksonville. I-95 runs straight through town, making it a convenient stop between Jacksonville and Savannah, while US-301 offers a quieter route south toward Gainesville. The rolling, pine-covered hills here feel more like Georgia than typical flat Florida. The old Atlantic Coast Line Railroad depot now serves as a local museum.
