Calimesa is a small mountain community of 11,000 people straddling Riverside and San Bernardino counties along Interstate 10, about 70 miles east of LA. The city sits in the foothills where cooler mountain air meets the desert, accessible via I-10 east or Route 60. Most residents commute to jobs throughout the Inland Empire, with March Air Reserve Base 25 miles southeast. Incorporated in 1990, it's one of California's youngest cities.
